In-Person Write It Workshop Facilitator

Are you passionate about promoting literacy among children and youth? We are looking for facilitators to deliver our Write It Workshops for children aged 8-14 at a public library. Join our dedicated team of facilitators.

  • Time: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

  • Place: Cyril Clark Library
  • Address: 20 Loafer Lake Lane, Brampton
  • Date: August 10, 17, 24
  • Time: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

As a workshop facilitator, your role and responsibility are to:

  • Deliver the Write It Workshop Series to children aged 8-14 years
  • Work with other volunteers during the delivery of the workshop
  • Attend an online training session with other volunteers
  • Collect feedback and comments from participants to be used for social media sharing
  • Provide feedback to the workshop manager

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • A Vulnerable Sector Check is required from the local police
  • Excellent communication skills that are effective with children
  • Engaging and positive interactions with children that maintain their attention
  • Patience in working with students of diverse backgrounds and levels of understanding
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with organization co-ordinators and other peers
  • Teaching experience is an asset

Estimated Volunteer Hours: Each workshop is one hour long. You should arrive at the library half hour before starting of each workshop.
