Ripple Foundation is a Canadian educational charity that is 100% volunteer-run. Ripple creates and delivers free community programs advocating creative literacy among children and youth. We are always looking for like-minded people who are willing to donate their time and skills. Currently, we have three programs: Kids Write 4 Kids, Write It Workshops and Wave Blog.

All positions are virtual. No travelling is required.

Email Marketing Manager

We are looking for an Email Marketing Manager to work with PR and social media team to create email campaigns. You will be responsible for email marketing strategy, including writing email copy, managing the email database, and creating email campaigns in SendGrid to deploy the email.

As an email marketing manager, your role and responsibility are to:

  • Write error-free email copy and subject lines for email campaigns
  • Manage and maintain email database to ensure the database is up to date
  • Work with PR and social media team to create an email calendar
  • Create and set up email campaigns in SendGrid
  • Test and deploy campaigns at a high level of accuracy
  • Ensure everything you produce is high-quality, consistent and on-brand

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of digital marketing or email marketing experience
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Editorial background with copy-editing skills is a plus
  • Experience with HTML/CSS
  • SendGrid or relevant software knowledge preferred
  • Self-starter with the ability to problem-solve
  • Detail-oriented and organize

Estimated Volunteer Hours: 10 hours per month

Sponsorship Sales Rep Executive

We are looking for a sponsorship sales executive to seek financial support for the Express Inspire Connect virtual conference. Held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, kids 8 to 17 (grades 4-12) will have a unique opportunity to experience a jam-packed day of workshops, interactive sessions, and a special keynote address from New York Times bestselling author Nic Stone. In addition, two-time Olympian Lori-Ann Muenzer will deliver our welcome and opening remarks. As a 100% volunteer-run educational charity, we can’t offer an event of this scale without corporate sponsorships.

As a Sponsorship Sales Rep Executive, your role and responsibility are to:

  • Identify potential prospects from community organizations, corporations and foundations
  • Develop strategies to cultivate and solicit these prospects to secure sponsorship
  • Generate and arrange meetings with prospects through networking and other methods of canvassing
  • Identify opportunities, pitch sponsorship and marketing partnerships
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with prospects through the use of phone calls and emails
  • Work with internal team to customize and deliver sponsorship package

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with strategic sales marketing
  • Prior sponsorship sales experience in the charity and non-profit section preferred
  • Strong background in sponsorship and a proven ability to generate sales
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task
  • Outgoing, energetic self-starter with a passion

Estimated Volunteer Hours: 12-15 hours per month

Virtual Writing Workshop Facilitator

Are you passionate about promoting literacy among children and youth? We are looking for facilitators to deliver our Write It Workshops for children aged 8-14 years on Zoom.

As a workshop facilitator, your role and responsibility are to:

  • Deliver the Write It Workshop Series to children aged 8-14 years via Zoom
  • Work with other volunteers during the delivery of the workshop
  • Attend an online training session with other volunteers
  • Collect feedback and comments from participants to be used for social media sharing
  • Provide feedback to the workshop manager

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • A Vulnerable Sector Check is required from the local police
  • Excellent communication skills that are effective with children
  • Engaging and positive interactions with children that maintain their attention
  • Patience in working with students of diverse backgrounds and levels of understanding
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with organization co-ordinators and other peers
  • Teaching experience is an asset
  • Experience with Zoom is an asset

Estimated Volunteer Hours: This is a low commitment and flexible based on your availability. Each workshop is 1 hour in length and takes place on a Saturday afternoon that starts at either 1 pm or 2 pm. All lesson plans and workshop activities are provided. Your time commitment is to participate in the initial online training sessions and familiarizing yourself with all the lesson plans and workshop activities.
