Editorial Illustrator Wanted – Wave Blog
We’re seeking illustrators — particularly students or recent graduates from illustration or design programs — who want to build editorial experience, collaborate with an editorial team, and contribute original artwork to meaningful stories.
Wave Blog is a youth-focused platform published by Ripple Foundation, a volunteer-run charitable organization dedicated to amplifying young voices through writing and creative expression.
Illustrators receive full credit for their work, including a byline and link to their website or portfolio.
As a Wave Blog illustrator, you will:- Read assigned blog posts and brainstorm visual concepts with our editorial team.
- Create and share a thumbnail or rough sketch for feedback before finalizing.
- Produce original illustrations based on written content and editorial direction.
- Revise artwork as needed based on light editorial feedback.
- Can create original, human-drawn digital illustrations
- Have experience with illustration or design software (e.g. Procreate, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Demonstrate strong conceptual and visual storytelling skills.
- Are comfortable translating written ideas into images.
- Are open to collaboration and feedback.
- Have access to their own illustration tools and software.
- Will adhere to to Ripple Foundation’s copyright, originality & AI use policy
